Alliance Receives Two Awards in BEC Sustainable Consumption Programme

Alliance Construction Materials Limited (“Alliance”) is pleased to announce that the company has won “Bronze Award” for “Sustainable Product Supplier” and “Certificate of Excellence” for "Sustainable Consumption Enterprise" in the Sustainable Consumption Programme organised by Business Environment Council Limited (BEC). Alliance is the only enterprise to be recognised by both award categories this year.

Supported by the Sustainable Development Fund, BEC Sustainable Consumption Programme aims to promote sustainable consumption and drive behavioural changes in Hong Kong. The award scheme under this programme recognise "Sustainable Consumption Enterprise" and "Sustainable Product Supplier", encouraging companies to support sustainable consumption and offer products or services with sustainable features.

Sustainability has always been a vital part of Alliance’s value. In view of procurement, the company’s aggregates are from two recognized green quarries. All the production facilities and processes comply with the environmental standards in Hong Kong and the PRC. Its self-developed concrete carbon calculator can facilitates the customers’ low carbon purchasing. Environmental impact of its operations was minimized through managing Carbon Footprint, implementing ISO50001 energy management system and other stringent pollution control measures.

With commitment to sustainable product development, Alliance launched value added concrete products with different performance characteristics and products made from recycled materials. For example, the fast-to-set EarlyCrete, the ultra-light weight FoamCrete, and products for special applications, such as long pumping and self-compacting concrete, catering for challenging construction needs while generating sustainability benefits.
