Alliance is awarded ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certificate
The ISO 50001 energy management system standard, introduced in 2011, is a proven framework for industrial facilities, commercial facilities, or entire organizations to manage energy – including all aspects of energy procurement and use. Companies comply with ISO 50001 are benefited from improved energy efficiency and reduced costs.
To further enhance its energy management system, Alliance started to follow the ISO requirements early this year by establishing a clear energy policy and targets, compiling a manual on the energy management system, formulating a comprehensive energy measurement plan, and setting up a mechanism for continual monitoring, review, improvement and protection.
'The ISO 50001 certification has not only helped further take forward the Alliance's initiative of enhancing the energy performance of our operations, but also sets an example for the industry, thereby promoting the enhancement of energy efficiency levels to all our stakeholders. And most importantly, our focus on the environment and sustainability will go hand in hand with our business growth,’ Mr. David Hogan, CEO of Alliance said.
An audit of the system has been completed and Alliance has been awarded ISO 50001 Energy Management System Certificate by BSI on 16th December 2015.
